My name is Jane Green and like many others I dreamt of speaking in such a beautiful and romantic language. I have spent time in France on vacations and fell in love with the place immediately. If you have been then I’m sure you’ll agree.
But unfortunately like so many others I found it very difficult to remember the fundamentals and always ended up with my head buried in a phrase book. Inevitably the French people I was conversing with would smile and answer me in perfect English…
When I decided it was the time to learn French I picked up a CD in my local bookstore. Thinking it was as easy as following along I was eager to get started. But this couldn’t have been further from the truth.
The problem was the way the French language lessons were being taught just left me confused and on the verge of giving up. It was very difficult to follow and I felt I was just repeating phrases instead of learning the language.
So I gave up…
And then one day while browsing on the internet I came across a course that promised I would be speaking fluent French in weeks. I decided to give it a shot and purchased the course.
What a BIG mistake! It was completely useless, and there were even some basic errors that even I knew were wrong. Again the problem was in the way it was taught. Just repeat some phrases back and you’ll be fluent in no time…but we both know that’s not the case.
Eventually, I found something that worked.
Having spent so much wasted time and money I was extremely dubious. But taking a recommendation from a friend I purchased a product called Rocket French.
And I’m so glad I did. This was completely diferent and the learning approach was completely brilliant. From the first CD I knew I had found something great.
Here’s why I recommend it.
There are 2 major reasons why I believe in this course so highly. Firstly, the lessons are so unique compared to every other course I’ve seen. It’s as close as you can get to learning in a French speaking environment I believe and they really understand why learning repetitive phrases and grammar lists are no good.
The course creator, Marie-Claire Rivière, provides you with games, audio, written lessons and interactive sections where you converse in a conversational style. The different methods of learning helped me to really get a grasp on speaking and also writing and listening in French.
The second reason is simply the proof I have seen in my own improvements. I said at the start that it took less than 2 months until I was speaking confidently, but I saw improvements almost immediately! This really surprised me and I honestly didn’t think I was capable of learning so quickly…
